Review of Captain Phillips (2013) by Matt C — 11 Mar 2015

This is great, Hanks really has got better and better as an actor as his career has gone on. He's a movie star in the classic sense but his portrayal of the everydayman put in the extraordinary situation is as good as Stewart or Grant ever would have done here.

Greengrass as always perfectly balances the realism with the excitement and tension, fantastic. The final 5 minutes or so are genuinely touching as well.
