Review of Captain Fantastic (2016) by Louise D — 26 Mar 2017
Not surprised that this divided opinion - at times it was almost gleefully pushing buttons, seemingly determined to leave no one unslighted. Refreshing to see a film that explicitly portrays political stances like this, and satirises them all equally, even if it's occasionally on the nose.
Interesting (sorry) and non-judgmental development of themes around who/what is crazy and who/what makes you crazy.
The performances were very good, and I was intrigued and absorbed throughout, though the end felt disappointingly neat.
