Review of Captain Fantastic (2016) by Anne S — 11 Dec 2017

This movie is in my top ten favorite movies. The story is compelling, the characters are lovable unique individuals, each one leaving a lasting impression, the plot moves, and the laughs are often. On top of that, there is something special about a movie that you find yourself thinking about in detail later, and that makes you question your life (without feeling preachy).

It's not a glorified view of the lifestyle either, but challenges it on many levels. Many articles however display a complete misunderstanding of the ideologies of this movie. It is not a liberal's dream, but much more closely aligned with an enlightened version of libertarian, if anything it is a much needed middle ground point of view combining liberal and libertarian views.
