Review of Captain Fantastic (2016) by Daniel G — 23 Jul 2016
This is a fun critique of modern culture through the lens of an intensely independent Father of six as he navigates an emotional foray for his late wife. The children are, though perhaps a bit too intelligent and perfect for me to find realistic, played the part of anti-capitalist yoga hardened survivalists perfectly. On the other end of the spectrum I found the grandfather a bit too one-dimensional; though I guess it makes for a good plot line.
Throughout I found myself laughing, nodding, smiling, and crying. It was a great film and well done.
