Review of Captain Fantastic (2016) by Kathleen W — 06 Nov 2016
The tamest imagining of radical thinking. Dad who wants his kids to be smart has them reading Dostoyevsky. Dad puts his kids through physical punishment and does nothing to challenge his own masculine modes of communication.
The film does question his methods but you know what whatever. The male character's voices are so much more important in this film and that means it's never going to be radical or surprising.
