Review of Captain Corelli's Mandolin (2001) by Linda B — 05 Oct 2007
I really should just take the hit and admit that Nicolas Cage is brilliant.
This is a war film told form the perspective of Greek Islanders who have their island and homes taken over by an Italian Regiment during World War II.
The Italian Regiment, however, aren't interested in the war one little bit. They're more concerned with eating good food, drinking, partying and getting to know he local women.
Great acting, great plot, great dialogue. Excellent film.
