This is an ok romance movie, and an ok war movie, but it seems to do neither of them particularly well, and thus seems disjointed. And although I find Penelope Cruz to be a very attractive woman, I could have done without seeing her naked, but it was cool seeing Christian Bale in his little role before becoming a big star.
