Review of Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) by Matt N — 05 Oct 2014

It's been three years since Marvel suddenly took off with Iron Man and we finally get the film that matches - if not tops - the impact and excellence of Iron Man. Captain America is the story of a man just doing his best to serve his country in a time of war.

And this film does exactly that. It shows character over action and the villain - unlike in the previous MCU films - is brutal and can easily terrify audiences, making them root even more for the hero.

With a brilliant beginning, excellent middle, and fantastically beautiful end, Captain America is the best film in the MCU to date.
