Review of Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) by Cooperreviews44 — 05 Dec 2018
A very underrated character study of Steve Rogers. This film is very important in Marvel lore and its a character study filled with fun action movie stuff. Steve Rogers motives really feel true and Chris Evans makes him such an honest and well written character its amazing.
The first half is flawless and fits together perfectly. The writing is superb, the wit and humor, and the 40's setting was really nice to see. However later in the film it feels very montage like and everything feels kind of rushed.
Red Skull and Zola where entertaining but flat. However that ending scene was so well done it might almost bring you to tears. The first half is a masterfully written heartfelt story and the second half is an action packed cheesy blockbuster with some fun moments.
Overall a very good film.
