Review of Captain America: The First Avenger (2011) by Tatsuhito K — 11 Feb 2018

This might just be my favorite film in the Phase 1 of MCU. It's a classic superhero origin story with fun, likable characters and exciting action set-pieces. It has texture and the sense of physicality that are lacking in the previous MCU films (that includes 'Thor' even though I like its visuals very much.

) The cast is clearly having a blast (Chris Evans is a great Captain America) and director Joe Johnston handles the drama, comedy, and action effortlessly. Very much a fan of its retro feel as well. It's really good fun.
