Just when I thought I had the worst comic book movies of all time pegged, I find this piece of crap. Howard The Duck probably still holds the top spot as Worst Comic Movie (never actually been able to get up the nerve to see it yet), but this has bumped Batman & Robin to the third place slot.

Batman & Robin was bad, no contest. But it did have production values. It had casting issues (George Clooney as Batman? Really?), this really does okay in that regard. They somehow managed to rope Darren McGavin and Ronny Cox into doing this, and so far as that goes it was okay.

B&R had costume issues (The Batsuit has nipples? Really? Poison Ivy gets christmas trees on her head halfway through the movie? Really?) Captain America simply doesn't ever try to make their costume believable.

They do make a joke about how it looks crappy, but still.....if it was just a litlle less pastel it might have been okay, but I don't know. B&R had script issues, both in plot and dialogue (Batgirl is Alfred's niece? Really? "Nothing like a benippled Batsuit to put fire in a girl's.

...lips...." and every pun issued by Schwartzenegger's Mr. Freeze), whereas this is just kind of blah.....but at the end of the film you still felt like there had been money spent, however poorly.

The effects in B&R were decent. In the end, Batman & Robin was a physically painful film for fans of Batman, but I doubt many people have even seen the end of Captain America.
