I liked the movie. I was anxious about the parts of the books that were skipped althogher (they took pieces of all five Alatriste books to make one movie). And true, the movie was a bit slow. But it didn't fail to deliver the message of extreme honor, courage, trust.
In a way Perez Reverte wouldn't have minded.
