Review of Captain Alatriste: The Spanish Musketeer (2006) by Timothy R — 28 Apr 2009
The most expensive Spanish film ever made. It wasn't as engaging as I thought it would be. Maybe it's because I don't have an understanding of Spanish history or maybe it was because there wasn't any real plot but at some points it is downright boring.
The cinematography is beautiful and Viggo Mortensen is outstanding as the rogue Spanish soldier and he speaks excellent Spanish.
