Review of Capricorn One (1977) by Tim G — 11 Jan 2009
This is a film very much of its era, soaked in '70s decor and attitudes to race (OJ Simpson gets very few lines and is first to not survive) and smoking in the work place (they all do it!). The film doesn't waste too much time getting the astronauts off the rocket before it leaves for Mars, then really slows down before showing the fake Mars set, uses the fake set for a surprisingly small amount of time, and then the chase is on when the astronauts escape.
I enjoyed the film, but only by using the fast-forward button through the some of tedious dialogue or lone actor scenes. Re-make?
