Review of Capitalism: A Love Story (2009) by Mike D — 15 May 2010
Once again Moore makes a very entertaining doco but beneath all the clever editing of archival footage how much of it is truly educational.
Absolutely there are some interesting points raised and the US would certainly be better off if FDR had passed his 2nd Bill of Rights but again Moore is simply preaching to the choir again or pissing off people who liked the way McCarthy thought. We all know Reagan was a dick, we know CEO's are a bunch of greedy, crooked fuckers and we know Flint Michigan, your home town, looks like Bagdad.
Not to mention everything Moore says has to be taken with a grain of salt since Manufacturing Dissent was released, he certainly is the master manipulator, in fact he and Sean Hannity are pretty much the same person just with different viewpoints, that and Moore plays the sympathetic friend while Hannity is the school bully. In fact if the two fused together they actually might balance each other out and create an America who is unbiased and reasonable and would finally do something productive and beneficial for the nation instead of filling their own coffers.
