Review of Cape Fear (1991) by Danielle O — 20 Mar 2009
During it's original release, this movie scared the bleep out of me, but now the movie has not aged well. There is too much 90's melodrama and dysfunction, like a made-for-Lifetime movie, with some occasional shock value from DeNiro.
What started as a homage to Hitchcock ended up as implausible cheese. Juliette Lewis' thumb scene will go down as one of the creepiest shots ever put to film.
