Review of Cape Fear (1991) by Aaron M — 30 Mar 2009

I actually was surprised by this one, I liked it better than I thought I would. I was a little hesitant about watching this movie, but I found it on DVD for cheap, and I figured "what the hell?" Scorsese/De Niro, can you go wrong? Well, this isn't my favorite Scorsese film, but I think it still deserves to be watched.

I thought the casting was great, De Niro, as always, was damn frightening and thought Nick Nolte was excellent. And I kind of have a predisposition to Juliette Lewis only because she was a little flirty with me at one of her shows with The Licks.

But anyway, "Cape Fear" is thrilling and suspenseful, some interesting visuals as well! Sure, it was a little cheesy in some parts, I'm sure that's how it was intended. I surely enjoyed this one.
