Review of Cape Fear (1991) by Josh C — 09 Apr 2009
Scorsese plays Hitchcock in this cartoonish thriller. The plot is utterly ridiculous (As of this writing, there is a thread on IMDB that notes dozens of plot holes and inconsistencies.) It's redeemed only by De Niro's portrayal of the deranged rapist Max Cady, which stands out as one of the best of his career.
