Review of Cape Fear (1991) by David M — 30 Jun 2012
A thriller that hasn't aged well. Scorcese has always had a flair for over the top angles and music, but this pushes it into cheese category. De Niro puts in some decent work, even with an accent you can't really nail down, and Nolte is put to good use.
It sometimes creepy and sometimes dramatic, but it relies on flaws in logic and plot holes to keep it working.
