Review of Can't Hardly Wait (1998) by Lydia S — 06 Oct 2007

This is like six degrees of Can't Hardely Wait. Sooo many people are in this movie. And tons of actors have worked together before or after. Lauren Ambrose (Denise), Freddy Rodríguez (T.J.--Mike's friend, who was talking about how his girlfriends parents have mirrors over their bed), Eric Balafour (stoned guy who licks the brownie off of Denise's face), and Peter Facinelli (Mike Dexter) were all in Six Feet Under at some point.

And Seth Green (Kenny), Amber Benson (who has a small role in which she's staring at a bannana), Channon Roe ("Mike Dexter's a role model!!"), Nicole Bilderback (the girl who ALMOST has sex with Kenny), Paige Moss (the girl who tells Kenny about how she used to call him Chester Cheeto), Clea DuVall (girl who's alergic to dancing)--and a whole bunch more, but I dont want to list them all, were all in Buffy together.

And a bunch of name actors today who had small roles in this movie. Like Jason Segel (Knocked Up, How I Met Your Mother) as the watermelon guy who talked to Jennifer Love Hewitt about how Preston wears t-shirts.

..sometimes. Selma Blair as the girl who Mike Dexter tries to hit on. And then there are people who were in Popular together, Sara Rue who tells everyone that they're all sheep and Leslie Grossman who plays the friend to the girl who's willing to sleep with anyone (Kenny).

So, it's fun to watch the movie and recognize everyone who's in it. It's one of the feel good movies for me. I know almost every line of dialogue and love everything about the movie. The character freeze frame bios.

The soundtrack. The way each scene goes into the other. How they ended the movie. Everything. And if it were a little more crude or used bad language it would have gotten the praise that American Pie got one year later.

So, it's in my top...50, lol.
