Review of Can't Hardly Wait (1998) by Tony U — 17 Jul 2008
I have to admit, I am a sucker for movies like Can't Hardly Wait. It's more or less like those other movie about high school life, like "16 Candles"; "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"; "American Graffiti"; "Valley Girl", "American Pie"; "Fast Times at Ridgemont High"; and even "Grease" where you are introduced to a series of stories of teens more or less coming of age. There's always an older influence, such as Jenna Elfman's character who sheds an adults perspective; and if written well, there's great comedic dialogue.
To me one of the funnier moments was when that one girl, who just broke up with her boyfriend declared that she'd do the first guy who talked to her and that one dude is overheading her say this.
When he acts goofy, walks away, and she says, "he'll do"...I pretty much busted a gut.
