Review of Can't Hardly Wait (1998) by Prabhat R — 16 Oct 2012
A royally cliched movie with a NOBODY pining for THE BOMBSHELL of his college. With party as the setup, typical of so many teenager movies, the movie had nothing more than a wafer-thin plot. Such movies resort to and depend on those silly, sometimes funny and sometimes gross interaction among its principals.
It was all there, but not all of them were funny, only few were, at least for me. The leading guy had the look of that poor soul whom you'd root for, hoping he'd get the girl at the end. Of course he does.
Almost everyone watching the movie would know how it would end. It's just the process everyone's interested in, and nothing inventive was tried out here. There were some tad-funny characters who didn't really bore me with their antics, and they managed to be just marginally funny.
So all in all, an okay movie at the best, with nothing much to lose if you miss it, and nothing much to gain if you watch it.
