Review of Candyman (1992) by Liz — 20 Apr 2010
"The Candyman" has classic elements of 'horror', or what can be called 'horror'. "The Candyman" is a dry, predictable, horror movie with no originality outside of the fact that they use a "dream-monster" oh wait... wasn't that used in something before... oh ya A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET! What about the fact that she gets blamed for the murders... I've never seen that before... NOT! Every element of this un-entertaining, minimally scary movie made me want to turn off the TV. If it hadn't been for the guy in blockbuster telling me, "It's a classic" I wouldn't have even thought to try and finish. But sadly I did, and now I get to write this review for you about how horrible a movie this was.
Many people don't agree with me, but I hate repetition in my movies, especially horror movies, and here is the epitomy of all repition.
I urge you strongly to think twice before wasting your time on such a bitter movie like, "The Candyman" (fyi the name makes absolutly no sense).
