Review of Candyman (1992) by Tania A — 01 Aug 2010
Decent direction and a passable premise are all this film had going for it. The acting was awful, the dialogue was poorly written and occasionally contradicted itself, the score was too strong in scenes that didn't need it, there was no attachment for the main protagonist, and it was quick to use unncessary nudity and excess gore.
I also felt that while it tried to be smart with the race angle it took, it came off as preachy.
