Review of Candyman (1992) by Jackie N — 01 Jun 2009
Expertly shot authentic horror with great jolts, moody lighting, a gothic, elegant score by Philip Glass, tight, effective editing and pacing, a good performance by the beautiful Virginia Madsen, and an emphasis on story and building tension as well as gruesome imagery.
Unfortunately, the story is derivative at parts, and the third act isn't as good as the first two.
7.5/10.
