Review of Calvary (2014) by Stefanus Andi G — 30 Dec 2014
Small parish in greeny outskirt coastal Irish canvassed this grim comedy. It is actually a suspense, but JM McDonagh played it cool, lightly with comic script.
Put it this way, an innocent good father is terrorized by a haunted, traumatized ex-altar boy. No plots are going to be spoiled here, but I assure you will be touched seeing this flick. The ending show a kind forgiveness too.
Even a good righteous people may have a rigorous painful life, to pure the gold out of fire as they shall say.
