If a country's horror movies tell us about its darkest fears, it appears that Belgium has unresolved issues with rural life and the perceived confusion of gender roles such places apparently encourage.
Not much of this hillbilly nightmare is all that original, but the suspense is built masterfully and Jackie Berroyer - as the psychotically lonely innkeeper - delivers a deeply unnerving performance.
