Review of Call Northside 777 (1948) by Bruce B — 16 Dec 2010
A convicted murderer's mother wishes to prove his innocence; a reporter becomes involved, although initially he is only trying to increase his newspaper's sales and believes the conviction to be sound.
This film is based on a true story and shows the fight to prove a man's innocence after 11 years in prison. I found the depiction of police work and journalism in 1930/40s Chicago fascinating.
