I saw this movie three days ago and it hasn't left my mind since. Both of the actors added such refreshing details to their characters that they where able to create a reality which is with a range of broadness I haven't seen in a very long time.

The idea of two straight men playing two men falling for each other fascinates me, because it gives a level of anonymity to the story. This story could have been played by a young man and a young girl, a teacher and a student or two older women - it doesn't matter because it is a story about love and can be written on any couple which falls in love for the first time.

Sad is the person who hasn't felt the questionings and disappointments of first love in their life and haven't experienced the sort of connection Oliver and Elio share and therefore feel the need to accuse the movie of glorifying pedophilia.

This movie is touchable, tastable, smellable and feelable - it speaks to all the senses. You will want to go back to the summer of 1983 again and again, but it will never be as beautiful as the first time you saw it.

Exactly like first love - the experience of seeing the movie for the first time is special and unrepeatable.
