Review of Call Me by Your Name (2017) by Tiina N — 02 Feb 2018
The acting is subtle and moving. I know this is supposedly Timothee Chamalet's break-through film but I thought Michael Stuhlbarg who played the father was amazing! Together they had one of the most moving scenes of the whole movie.
This film is beautifully shot but very low-key and relatively non-dramatic. Loved the way they kept changing the language so naturally, just like it happens in multilingual families. The ending was simultaneously sad and hopeful.
Excellent soundtrack too, especially wonderful was Sufjan Stevens' Mystery of Love.
