Review of Call Me by Your Name (2017) by Claudio O — 03 Feb 2018
Luca Guadagnino is an expert on making beautiful films, but there is something different about this one. The passion is palpable and inebriating. The feelings are real and deep, even if the locations and situations are oneiric.
The soundtrack is great. The characters are incredibly intelligent, sensitive and talented. The performances are wonderful, especially that of Timothée Chalamet. The story contains a summer, and within that season there´s wisdom, change and pain.
To call the ending of this film completely devastating would be a gross understatement. Simply put, this is one of the few perfect movies I have ever seen, and one of my favorites.
