Review of Call Me by Your Name (2017) by Bob S — 20 Apr 2018
I thought this might avoid the usual trope that all gay films end in tragedy or loneliness and they almost avoided that here. But not quite. Somewhere between James Ivory's early classic Room With A View and the lesser known Maurice, both based on EM Forster novels, the Italian setting and languid beauty of the two leads makes up for its faults.
