Lol. this movie is so downright absurd and graphic that its almost good. Despite its amazing cast including Malcolm McDowell, Hellen Mirren, and Peter O'Toole, the film (NC-17 version at least) falls into a category closely related to torture-porn. If you want certain body parts to ache from memory for a few days after viewing, then this is the film for you.
NOTE: The film had an innocent intention in the beginning to tell a simple story which was corrupted not by the director but rather by the producer who was also a writer for Penthouse. Now you know where all the random porn comes from.
