Review of Caligula (1979) by Tristan G — 13 Aug 2008
Horribly misguided and crafted with little vigour, Caligola fails to amount to much more than glorified pornography due to an exploitative tone, countless moments of unintentional hilarity, and hammy acting (squandering the collective talents of Malcolm McDowell, Helen Mirren, and Peter O'Toole).
Mildly entertaining at times, although generally best viewed whilst under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
