The Caligula episodes of I, Claudius remade into something resembling soft-porn, (mis)using a stellar cast and not necessarily getting the best out of them, However, it is somewhat rescued by Malcolm McDowell throwing himself into the title role with a huge amount of enthusiasm, which is just as well, since he is an active participant in almost all the dodgier scenes and so can't pretend those bits were added later, like several of the other cast members do.
