A Cult Classic Film Which Depicts Roman Emperor Caligula's Reign Of Sex & Violence. The Film Features A Strong Cast, & Is An Entertaining Film, With It's Lavish And Realistic Sets. But Unfortunately Malcolm McDowell & Helen Mirren's Performances Are Not Up To Scratch (Although It Is An Early Film For Both Actors), The Great Peter O'Toole & The Great John Gielgud Have Supporting Roles.
The Actor's Performance Downfall Is The Film's Script As They Are Given Very Little To Work With. I Had Doubts With This Film To Begin With Being It Directed By Both Softcore Legend, Tinto Brass & Penthouse Publisher Bob Guccione, But What They Have Produced Is A Decent & Somewhat Entertaining Historical Drama.
