Review of Café Society (2016) by Jo C — 10 Sep 2016
For every heavy drama Woody Allen writes, he writes about a handful more light comedies. Café Society is Allen's love letter to old Hollywood and a romance between two young people. The performances from Eisenberg and Stewart are good and Allen always brings the best out of his ensembles. The story is light and breezy and doesn't stand out among Allen's more famous works. But, at Allen's age, it is good enough for him.
Grade: B.
