Review of Café Society (2016) by Scott H — 01 Aug 2016
Entertaining only because of who is in it and the performances they give rather than the actual material. The narration from Woody Allen feels forced, unnatural and causes a disruption in focus that is only regained when Jesse Eisenberg is onscreen with Kristen Stewart or Blake Lively, who he has amazing chemistry with.
It's funny, has some good moments of commentary, but an odd ending and a lack of having a consistent purpose holds it back from being great.
