Review of Caddyshack II (1988) by Eric-Travis S — 10 Apr 2009
Well, the gopher's back, Chevy Chase is back, Bill Murray's character's essence has been transfered to Dan Akroyd, Rodney Dangerfield's character has inspired Jackie Mason as the "nouveu-riche" mixing with blue bloods in this film that is a sequel in the same sense as "Evil Dead II" or "Rocky (insert # here)" is. Plot devices are reused, scenes are regenerated, except the gratuitious sex is missing and so is the originality. I will say that Randy Quaid had a great role which brought a few laughs, but all in all this was either an average regular movie or an outstanding bad movie.
I did find the film flowed a little less clumsily than the original, and if this movie was not preceded by "Caddyshack" I would be prone to give it a higher rating.
