Review of Caddyshack (1980) by Eric On His Fantasy Quest V — 23 Jul 2009

Welcome to the Bushwood Country Club, where the golf membership is exclusive. It's all about swinging, but not on the courses. Greenskeeper Carl Spackler is about to destroy a digging gopher. Pompous Judge Smails plays to win but his niece Lacey Underall wants to score on her own. Playboy Ty Webb shoots perfect golf by becoming the ball. And country club loudmouth Al Czervik just doubled a $20,000 bet on a 10-ft. putt. All of them is happening at the Caddyshack.

Directed by Harold Ramis, Caddyshack features great acting performances from the following cast:

1.) Chevy Chase (Ty Webb).

2.) Rodney Dangerfield (Al Czervik).

3.) Ted Knight (Judge Smails).

4.) Michael O'Keefe (Danny Noonan).

5.) Bill Murray (Carl Spackler).

6.) Cindy Morgan (Lacy Underall).

When I watch this I find Caddyshack as a funny comedy with the balls - golf balls, that is. The insanity ensues with scenes throughout, including a doodie in the pool that made me laugh and crack up! :-D Nice to see the acting performances here; Mr. Chase does his Ty Webb role well, especially when he delivers this memorable quote that I like: "A flute with no holes is not a flute. And a doughnut with no hole is a Danish." Amen to that!
