Review of Caddyshack (1980) by Zachary G — 12 Sep 2017
In the vein of "us poor guys against those rich s.o.b.s" begun with Animal House comes this slapstick laden farce of the same hijinks on a snobby golf course. Some Saturday Night Live alum are there to solidify the "it's the revolution, so pass the joint" aesthetic, while old school comedians hold down the main plot line.
It's a mixed bag with spotty humor, most efforts embarrassing and groanworthy. Save this one for one of those nights you and the missus open up that special package hidden in the back of the freezer to smoke to remember the old days of "we thought we were rebellious" youth.
