Unnecessary, & ultimately underwhelming remake takes the "shot for shot recreation" approach on a film that came out only 13 years ago. Seems like an unlikely candidate for a remake at this point in time, but they did it, and now it exists, and suddenly the sequels to the original appear that much better to me.
