Review of Cabin Fever (2003) by Lace — 23 May 2009
A group of sterotypes go to party in the woods, one catches a virus. Thats about it plot-wise. I don't really mind about plot in horror anymore. It's just a lost cause. What I DO look for is originality and just sticking a bunch of old better horror films in a blender & spewing out this doesn't cut it. You can almost hear the director saying something like "We need more 'Night of the Living dead' steal the ending from that movie". Aside from the blatant rip-off ending. He "borrows" from other films. Oh yeah, and the out-of-the-blue kung-fu was more amusing when I saw it in 1983's trash cult horror movie classic "Pieces"!! And to top it all off Rider Strong gives the EXACT SAME performance he did in ALL his years on "Boy Meets World". If he ever stars in a movie with Keanu Reeves & Aston Kutcher, may God have mercy on us all.
My Grade: D+.
DVD Extras: 5 movie commentaries; "Pancakes" (more kung fu this time set to the "Gay Bar" song); "Family" version; "chick-vision" version; 2 featurettes; Theatrical trailer; Trailers for "Serial Killing 101" and "The Job".
Eye Candy: Carina Vincent (the yellow Power Ranger) as Marcy is topless multiple times.
INSTEAD of this watch: "Evil Dead 2".
