Review of Cabin Fever (2003) by Vicky G — 20 May 2010
I figured with the re-release and the sequel(haven't seen) id do the review of one of my favorite horror films.Cabin fever is one of those films that pay homage to the classic horror style of films.Such include The Thing,Evil Dead,ect...
What makes this one worth the watch is the story, and the effect's.Mabey not the story but it's still funny and i'm sure eli roth knows how to make fun of not only himself but the horror genre, and thats probally the whole point.Fans of scary movies will find alot to drool over, dead ripped opened dogs, head in ball return, blood, weed, jordan ladd half naked...and did I mention bloody?...list goes on.I'm sick of the modern horror films, thats another reason I took the time to watch this. Also if your an aspiring film student lisitn to eli's commentay...the guy likes to talk, but it's very entertaining and educational.Back to review, sure a tad cliche but that's what makes it fun.The acting sub-par...but it's a horror movie you know. The sound was fantasctc, the effects were not at all c-g so expect streight-up GORE.I'd love to see eli do another film soon(watch the thanksgiving trailer it's funny and sic)only time will tell if the genre will finally get a shot in the arm it need's,prehaps...
