Review of Cabin Fever (2003) by Hollis M — 11 Jan 2013
Spoiler: the virus spreads effectively, they all die... Except for one, but then he gets predictably shot. A bit like Night of the Living Dead, but shame on me for comparing the two. This was a very subtle torture porn (by my standards anyway) with a very predictable format.
At first, as I was watching this on a stream with friends, someone noted that they were getting a Children of the Corn vibe. I agreed, and thought the sensation was cool and this film was going somewhere.
But my expectations failed me. There's not a whole lot I can say about this film... Some of the characters are real douches and annoyed me. There were some comedic elements (see: Deputy Winston), and while that made the film a bit more memorable it'd didn't change my (dis)favor for the film either way.
Not my cup of tea, but perhaps someone else would enjoy it.
