Review of Cabin Fever (2003) by Scott W — 28 Jun 2013
Cabin fever really kicked off a wave of post-scream self-aware (postmodern??) horror that you can still really feel the after effects of today. for better or worse eli roth has helped shape this century in horror films in a very big way.
it's hard to fault though cuz this movie is creativity+80's splatter nostalgia+a conscious awareness of conventions and a desire to sideswipe said conventions with humor and genuine terror is what this movie all is and it's great.
probably one of the best movies to watch if you're drunk as well. whatever happened to cerina vincent('s acting career. i'm assuming she's making a killing on horror convention signings and stuff)?
