Review of Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever (2009) by Adam R — 08 Mar 2016
Despite its promising first two acts, the potential on display in "Cabin Fever 2: Spring Fever" peters out as the film draws to a close. Picking up where the first film left off, a band of high-schoolers falls prey to a flesh-eating virus when the bottled water served at their prom contains the contagion.
Two students - John (Noah Segan) and Cassie (Alexi Wasser) - manage to escape from the school gym before the dance floor becomes an abattoir. However, they must survive not just the infection but also the military (who is desperate to contain the virus by any means necessary) as well as personal tensions when they are pursued by Cassie's asshole boyfriend (Marc Senter).
Though "Cabin Fever 2" has its share of strong moments - chief among them some unsettling gross-out images and a stunning speech for anyone complacent enough to stay in an unfulfilling relationship - the movie slows to a crawl as it runs on, offering little in the way of a climax and even less of a resolution.
