Review of Cabaret (1993) by Andy P — 09 Dec 2008
Strong performances from Liza Minnelli, Michael York and the eccentric portrayal by Joel Grey. Weird musical about a cabaret singer (Minnelli) and an English teacher (York) and their confused relationship during the rise of the Nazis in Berlin.
An iconic musical, but there is no way Bob Fosse should have beaten Francis Ford Coppola for the Best Director Oscar in 1973.
