Review of Cabaret (1981) by Mandi M — 01 May 2009
I have to admit that I loved this film. This film most definitely should have been rated PG-13. When you have an entire musical number devoted to manaja twas, a set of infidelity affairs that includes a heterosexual affair and a homosexual affair and a case of abortion that a movie is obviously geared towards an audience more mature than children that generally see PG rated films.
At first I hated the lack of â??real endingâ??, but I later came to realize that it was the only way the film could end. I feel like the entire film was autobiographical on Lizaâ??s part since her own life experience was so similar to her characterâ??s.
