Review of Billy Elliot (2000) by Mandi M — 19 Apr 2009
I was unaware that this film was R rated when I rented it. I saw the Common Sense rating (which are normally really stringent) said it was appropriate for ages 14 and up, so I rented it. Though I loved the story-line and the execution of the plot, I did grow tired of the f-word being said every twenty seconds (even by the children!).
Jaimie Belle is extraordinarily talented. I LOVED the character Michael. He was so endearing. "Do you get to wear a tutu?" Fabulous.
